So for those that might have noticed I was gone...

this is what I have been up to! Why am I posting this, you ask? Well, this little baby (and another just like it that I am working on) is going to make me want to spend all my waking moments in my craft room...hah!

This "little" project gives a whole new meaning to "sweat equity", since it was at least 115 degrees in my garage while I worked on it. To confess, I am really not what you would call a "junkin" type of person, but my daughter and I saw this beauty:

at the Salvation Army and I felt it had potential! I have been wanting to redo my craftroom and had been looking at tables...apparently in the wrong places. This puppy was $65 but I did not have a way to haul it that day, so I went back the next day with my hubby's truck. Well, if it wasn't half price day at the SA...score baby! My cost $32.50.

So with a little elbow grease, I got it to this stage:

What do you think...worth the effort? Total investment about $50! I am currently working on another table and my desk to go with.

I am hoping my new craft room will get me out of my "funk" and the creative juices will start flowing again!

You make life so sweet...

...which is kind of what I have been doing lately...maybe not "life" in the literal sense, but definitely the "sweets" part. My family would probably tell you that I have done more baking in the last few months than well...forever! Hence the reason, less time in my craft room! I came out of hibernation to participate in Taylor's weekly Sketch Challenge #118 and Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday Challenge which was to create a square card! I haven't participated in any challenges lately and to do two in one day is unheard of for me!

I could not resist this new stamp by Stampingbella called BaykahBella. If it were me though, there would be a decorated sugar cookie sitting on that plate instead of a cupcake! The DP is some Doodlebug that I have had in my stash for quite some time...it couldn't match this little image better, right?! Sentiment is an old Technique Tuesday, which I thought went perfect with the image as well.

Spotlighting Copics!

I don't know about you, but I could not live without my Copic markers and this week the DT at ABC Toys and Crafts are showing their creations with these fabulous markers. Believe it or not, I do have other stamps besides Sarah Kay's but if you are going to color it might as well be something fun and I love this image called, Josephine in the Watermelon Patch. I can't even tell you who made this DP. I found it at the bottom of my scrap box and thought it looked cute with this image. Sentiment is by Taylored Expressions.

Spellbinder Spotlight Week

This week at ABC Toys and Crafts, the Design Team is spotlighting Spellbinders as well as The Slice Machine and Sizzix, all of which are on sale for 15% off...no coupon code needed.

This is easy for me since I rarely make a card that does not involve a Nestabilitie. For this card I used the "outside the box" technique for this cute Sarah Kay image called, "Zoe Gazing at the Butterfly". Image was colored using Copics. I used a Sakura Glue Pen and some ultrafine Glitter on the flowers, hat ribbon and butterfly. Image is mounted on 3M Foam Tape for added dimension.

It's time to spotlight "Martha Stewart" Punches...

at ABC Toys and Crafts and now I must confess my dirty little secret...I am border punch "challenged". Yep, it's true...I love the look, but getting myself to achieve it, is a whole different matter.

For my card today, I used one of my favorite Martha Punches, the Arch Lattice Border. I don't know that I have ever created a card using the punch on the sides of the card, but I kind of like how it turned out. The little flip flop (Inkadinkado) stamp was an impulse buy while I was waiting in line at JoAnns yesterday...I'm a sucker for flip flops and especially ones that only cost a buck! Another one of those quickie cards that requires no coloring of any kind! Love it!

I try not to toot my own horn...

...but I am sort of proud of these cookies! I saw them on a forum and had to give it a try myself.

The reason I am so proud is because I did not have a cookie cutter to make them. I made a template by finding the logo online, saved it to my computer, sized it to the size I wanted, printed it and then lamenated it. After rolling out the dough, I layed the template on and cut around it with a knife...not bad for my first try, eh? I will make a few changes next time, but overall, I was pleased with the outcome. I was so excited that ABC Toys and Crafts was showcasing Stampavie stamps this week. I had a hard time choosing between Sarah Kay's and Helz Cuppleditch
but in the end chose this darling image called, "Olivia with her kittens, Kiki and Sugar". Stampavie has wonderful images if you love to color. Because they are so detailed, I prefer to keep the rest of the design fairly simple. One of my favorite color combinations is pink and black and I couldn't resist paper piecing her little pair of pants in the mini check to match.

The image is colored with Copics and Prismacolor Pencils/OMS. No Nesties today (a rarity for me), just a Martha Stewart Border Punch and a little glitter in the flowers for sparkle.

This is one of my favorite Bella images...wouldn't you love to be able to fit into one of those cute little 'kini's?! I have to admit, these days you are more likely to find me in the kitchen baking, than in my craftroom stamping. It seems I have turned my Copics in for Food Coloring, but since I was in the mood to actuall "color" the other day, I chose this cute little digi image found at Sassy Cheryl's. She has the cutest images and if you enjoying coloring, I highly recommend checking out her fun stuff! I just love this little girl blowing a bubble...I am not sure what sentiment to put on it, hence the reason it doesn't have one, but I just had to create a card using her! Kept it simple so that the main focus would be on the image.

A few "shout outs"!!

First I have to give a huge shout out to my hubby who has put up with me for 34 years today...wow, seems like only yesterday! You're the best!

Next, I have give a big thank you to my stamping buddy, Karolyn, who gave me this great goodie bag for my birthday...love those PTI stamps and won't I have fun spending that gift card at our local Scrapbook store? Let me just say that this girl rocks the card making...always coming up with such cute designs! I am even going to forgive her for leaving AZ early to go back to WA for the birth of her new Grandson..congrats, my friend!

I even spent a little time in my craftroom these past few days. Had an order for some Bridal Thank You's, but unfortunately thought of taking a picture after I sealed up the envelope. Oyyyyyy!

I decided to venture outside my comfort zone and actually create a card for a little boy...shame on me for being the Grandma that rarely makes them! This card was created using Pirate Boy...how cute is he. I couldn't believe how well the image matched this DCWV design paper. This card was super easy to create, as you can see. A quick post today for my Bellarific Friday challenge card at Stamping Bella...which was to use "flowers" somewhere on your card. I opted to use a stamp that had flowers, because I rarely use the real thing. Love this little stamp called Teacup Daisies. It's a very basic, quick and easy card. Colored with Copics, shaded the edge with a sponge dauber, added a little glitter for sparkle, main image is mounted with foam tape, added some ribbon and VOILA!

I am just lovin' these Stampavie images by Helz Cuppleditch...this Ruffles the dog image is called "A Present for You". Wouldn't this card be the perfect way to surprise someone a new puppy? Image is colored with Copics and cut out using a Circle Nestabilities. Dots were created with a Cuttlebug Embossing Border and then sanded with an emery board. Add ribbon and Voila!

FINALLY found some creativity in my craftroom...it has been so neglected lately! I told myself that no matter what, I was going to find time to play along in this week's Sassy Cheryl's challenge..which was "white on white". I actually love this look and can't tell you how many times I have said I was going to use it on a card, only to cave and add more color. This is way outside my "comfort zone" because if you know me at all, you know that I rarely have a card that doesn't have black somewhere on it...other than the ink, you won't find it on this card.

How cute is this image...it was actually a freebie that members of the Sassy Cheryl's PCP Group were given when it reached 500 members. Love that little bear! Most of the image is colored with Copics, with a touch of Prisma's thrown in for shading and the grass. What else can I say...the rest is "white"! I was actually pleased at how it turned out. Sentiment is computer generated!

A Card and some sweet Treats!

I have spent very little time in my craftroom lately...I have had company twice, with just a few days in between. This was a birthday card I made for my niece's first birthday on one of those days. I love this little Lollipop image from Stamping Bella, called Pookie...just makes me smile! I didn't have very much time, so I kept it simple. Colored it with Copics and used a few Prisma's for shading, added a little glitter for sparkle and VOILA!

She will be making a cookie "bouquet" out of them when she gets them, hence the sticks.

Yes, the temperatures are starting to climb here in Arizona, but that is not the kind of sunshine I am sending. I created this card for this week's "recipe" challenge at ABC Toys and Crafts.

Clean and Simple...

...is not usually my style. Not because I don't like it, but because I usually end up putting more elements on my card to qualify as either clean or simple. This card is probably as close as I can come. It certainly was simple.

I used the Penny Black "Thinking of You" set. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp both the Eiffel Tower image and sentiment. To created the background I used my Scor-Pal and the image itself was cut out using Nestabilities...add a piece of ribbon and VOILA! Easy peasy!

Bellarific Friday

Found time yesterday to create a little card for this week's Bellarific Friday challenge, which was "anything goes". I decided to use one of my newest Bella's, called "Birdie House". I colored the image with Copics and added a little glitter for sparkle and used a glaze pen on the windows. How stinkin' cute is that little birdhouse charm...a little share from my buddy, Karolyn. This girl knows how to rock the charms, she has just about every theme possible! The sentiment is computer generated and on the inside I put "...tweet!"!

Still enjoying my company so I am posting a quick card today. This is another image from the Crafty Secrets set called "Sew Special". No coloring needed on this image so I just used Prismacolor Pencils and OMS to do a little shading. I found this lace in my stash...I have had it so long I don't even remember where I purchased it, but thought it went perfectly on this card. Cuttlebug Embossing Folder used on the background and the sentiment is computer generated.

I swear, sometimes I question my stability...I have company coming on Thursday and on Monday I decide I am going to redo one of my guest rooms/bathroom....oyyyyy! About half way through the painting I didn't think I was going to make it, but now that it is done, I am glad I took the plunge! Hopefully they won't notice that the walk-in closet isn't done, lol!

I did find enough time to make a card with this cute Helz Cuppleditch image called, Ruffles Party. I used this week's Sunday Sketch from The Sweetest Thing. I decided to give some love to my Prismacolor Pencils/OMS, which seem to get so neglected these days. The rest is pretty basic, but I did use a Glaze Pen on the balloons and dog bone. No "bling" today (gasp).

It's a BIG Girl's Thing!

Another super quick post. I made this card for this week's sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions...Taylor always comes up with such great layouts! To fit my images, I changed the card to a 5 1/2 inch square. Stamps are by Stamping Bella and they are all from the "Ketto's Clothesline" collection! I love all the different stamps that go with...who knew hanging clothes could be so much fun! Unlike yesterday's card, this one was made with the big girl's in mind!

Images were colored with Copics...added a little "bling" by using both rhinestones and glitter. Easy peasy!

Before I leave, I have to wish my Granddaugher, Taylor, a happy 2nd Birthday today!!

I finally found time to participate in this week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's...which was to "distress" your card in some way. I know that my "distressing" is somewhat of a stretch, but for me this is as good as it gets. I am just not a "tear your paper" kind of gal, that's not to say that I don't like it, but I just can't bring myself to actually do it! This darling image was one that Cheryl offered free to the anyone that belongs to her "group" at PCP, when it reached 300 members...so stinkin' cute! If you LOVE to color images, you should definitely check out Cheryl's store, she has some awesome images! I colored with Copics, and added glitter for sparkle. Pretty basic, kept the layout simple to focus on the image. Sentiment is from Stamping Bella.

"Spring is in full bloom"...

It gave me a great excuse to ink up this cute set by Penny Black, called "Thinking of You". The layout is from this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge at The Sweetest Thing I found this image very easy to color and although it appears almost "neon" in the picture, it really is not so bright, I promise. I used Diamond Glaze on the jars to give them a nice shine and glitter on the bow for sparkle!

Okay, as far as paper crafts, I got nuttin' honey...but since you took the time to stop by, I decided to share these little cookies that I made. My daughter, Melissa, was going to a bar-b-que/Margarita get together Saturday night so I decided to make some non-alcoholic "drinks" for the under 21 crowd (well, okay they were actually from 3-5 years old, but they need something fun too, right?). I packaged them up in clear little bags, tied with a ribbon...which held one Margarita and one lime.

Bellarific Friday

This week's challenge at Stamping Bella was to use monochromatic colors...something that I seldom, if ever, do. It's not that I don't like the look, but I actually just never think of doing it. Of course I did not venture too far outside my "comfort zone", as you can see. I just love this Wedding Dress Circle, but there usually is not a lot of coloring with a wedding dress, so I decided to just do a little shading with vry light Gray Copics and add a little "bling", hence the gray/black color pallette. After taking my pic and sending it off to Bellaland, I did decide that that bow on the back needed to be "popped" so my finished product is a little different than the original picture I sent in.

Who wouldn't love this cute little VW bus pulling up in front of their house loaded with presents? This is one of my new images by Helz Cuppleditch (think I finally have that spelling memorized, lol) that I recently purchased from ABC Toys and Crafts. I thought this image just screamed to be colored in super bright colors, which I did using Copic Markers. The headlights and windshield have been covered with Diamond Glaze, which you really cannot see in the photo. Cut out with Nestabilities and shaded with Memento's Ink and a sponge dauber.

For the paper pieced umbrella, I actually stamped twice on DP and cut both out, giving it lots of dimension. The image piece was cut out using the "Outside the Box" technique and Nestabilities. Easy Peasy!

Me! This is the card that I sent in for the Mesa Spring Fling Stamp Convention. The theme was "Kiss a lot of Frogs" and two winners were chosen....I was fortunate enough to be one of them. The prize was $100 to be spent at any of the vendors at the convention. Karolyn was nice enough to help me spend my money! Boy, was that fun! Bought a few "supplies" but the rest was spent on some fun new "rubber"!

The image is a Whipper Snapper and I think this frog is stinkin' cute! For the background and the letter "d", I ran the cardstock through my Big Kick with a Cuttlebug folder. After applying some ink for shading, I used Versamark and UTEE to create a texture to look like frog's skin. The entire image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS...something I rarely do these days. Note to self: must get back to that!

New "digi" images!

Besides seeing such beautiful creations on blogs that frequent, I love finding new companies that I have not seen before. By way of Dawn B.'s blog My Stamping Thyme (she has some amazing designs, btw), I found this new "digi" company called "Sassy Cheryl's"...oh my gosh, some of the cutest images, ever. Too bad it is nearing the end of winter, because she has some of the cutest snowmen I have ever seen! Anyhoo, they are hosting their first ever challenge so I decide to play along. You were to use one of Sassy Cheryl's designs (duh!) and create a card using primarily the color "green"!. I chose this image called Sweet Pea. I think she is too stinkin' cute. BTW, did I mention that all of her images are currently 20%?

Image is colored with Copics. The little "pearl" looking embellishments are made with a new product called Pearl Pen by Diva, after seeing this on someone's blog I had to try it. To be honest, I was a little disappointed in the outcome. I think you could achieve the same effect with a 3 Dimensional paint for a fraction of the cost. Sentiment is Hero Arts.

I rarely if ever, make a long card...I don't know why except for some reason it seems like a lot of space to fill. I did think this sketch at The Sweetest Thing looked fun, however. As you can see, there is very little coloring on this card...I must be getting lazy in my old age! It doesn't get much easier than this, folks. This card took all of about 5 minutes...I think I could get into this "no coloring" thing! Background paper is a .pdf file that was posted on the Internet so long ago that I don't even remember where it was (if you are interested, email me and I will pass it on). The images are from the new set by Impression Obsession called "Coffee with a Friend". I love black paper anyway, but I really like what it looks like with the kraft paper. This is a card that I actually made a while back! Definitely not your traditional wedding card, but I love how it turned out. I also love the versatility of this Ketto Clothesline by Stamping Bella, and all the accessories that you can buy to go with! Colored the image with Copics and some of the shading done with Prisma's/OMS. Although you can't really tell in the photo, I actually stamped two sets of clothespins, cut one out (quite tedious, I might add) and raised the second set up for dimension. DP is Amuse Mini Gingham...love black and pink together, one of my favorite combinations. Sentiment is Papertrey Ink.

A "Yummy" Valentine!

I just had to share what I received for Valentine's Day yesterday...nope, not from my hubby, but from my Son-in-Law, Tom. As far as Ron and I...Valentine's Day is just another day and I gave strict instructions that we were going to observe it as such. After being married almost 34 years, I don't need flowers or a card (not that these are bad things, by any means) to remind me what a great husband I have...he's my soul mate and I am thankful everyday for what I have!

Now, how yummy do these strawberries look?! Just the fact that he took the time to "dip" them, put them in the box and yes, even tie the bow (although, I am pretty sure I saw my daughter "wince" when she saw her ribbon being used) and make the little card himself, makes me even more grateful! I even saved a few calories throughout the day to enjoy a couple of them last night! Delish!

Other than that, nothing creative to share today! Tomorrow for sure!

A Saturday post! Just a quick one today as my hubby and I are watching the kiddies today. This is the card I made for the Bellarific Challenge, which was a sketch this week. I used two of my Lollipops, "Hannah and Landon" and created this Valentine's Day Card. Wouldn't you know, I would be one week early because this is what the actual challenge is next week, lol.

Anyhoo, colored with Copics and a few Prisma's thrown in. The bottom layer is a piece of Doodlebug Polka Dot that I ran thru the Big Kick using a Heart Cuttlebug Folder. "Love" across the bottom is a piece of ribbon that I have had in my stash forever. Card measures 5 1/2 inch square.

blog and are addictive to make! I started out making them for the Sweetheart Challenge at ABC Toys and Crafts and got so into it, I decided to make enough for my grandson to take to preschool for his Valentine's Day party!

They are incredibly simple and the possibilities are endless. I used a lot of scraps and old papers to create several different designs. To get the most "bang for your buck", it is best to use Kit Kat candy bars because you can get 4 wrappers out of one 12 x 12 piece of paper...of course they are super cute made with any of your favorite candy bars (I used Hersheys Regular, Cookies and Cream and Almond too). The container is just a little heart tin that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

Another baby card!

My daughter, Kelli, needed a baby shower card for a friend...the baby's room is going to have a "nautical" theme so I thought I would make a little card the same. I was at JoAnn's the other day and they were clearancing out some clear stamp sets...you can never have enough baby sets, now can you? This was a Fiskars set and since it had that cute little sail boat, I couldn't resist! I created the waves with the SU Scallop Border Punch and paper pieced the sail boat itself. Once again, I found that cute little fish brad in my stash and thought it made a cute addition. No real coloring on this card...just some shading done with a sponge dauber. Sentiment is Papertrey Ink.

I used this cute Lollipop named Ella, I just love all her polka dots! Colored with Copics, shaded with a sponge dauber and Memento Ink. Balloons are fun little brads that I have had FOREVER, don't even know who makes them!. Ella's hairbow is mounted with Silicone Glue for dimension.

This is one of my favorite House Mouse stamps. Typically I would see a mouse and RUN the other way, but how can you not love these little guys?!

Image is colored with Copics with a little shading dones with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. To create the cupcake "border", I first punched the top of my DP, then using solid green and pink, punched out more cupcakes and cut off the tops. Each one is then glued on to the top of the original border. I paper pieced the cupcake wrapper on the image to match the DP.

Mar-tee-ni Time!

This is the card that I created for this week's challenge at Impression Obsession...you were to create a "shape" card. This is what I came up with and guess what?! My number was the random number chosen for a $25 IO Gift Certificate! If you would like to play along, they have a new challenge every two weeks, so it give you plenty of time to create a card. The next challenge is "Shades of Green", that should be easy enough. You must use only Impression Obsession stamps for your project.

For this card I used Leigh Hannan's "Golf Martini" set. It is hard to tell from the photo, but the glass has been coated with Diamond Glaze. Image is colored with Copics. I used my Nesties to cut out card base and then used the Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug Folder to create my "dimples" on the golf ball. Sentiment is computer generated.

It has been a crazy 24 hours in AZ...

who says that we don't get natural disasters? Last night they were predicting a tornado to go right through my town! Now mind you, it never did happen...but it was a bit scary there for a while. The wind was howling at about 60 miles an hour and we had rain like no other. I had to drain water from my pool TWICE so it wouldn't overflow!

A quick card to share! Sorry about the poor picture quality, I normally shoot in natural "light" and there wasn't a lot of that yesterday, lol. These are more new images from Stamping Bella. It is the "Ketto Clothesline", which is one image and I have added "Baby Lingerie" to make this cute baby card. Image is colored with Copics, except grass which is done with Prismacolor Pencils/OMS. Because I suck at the whole grass thing in general, I used a Stamps by Judith image for the middle patch. The DP is from an older Doodlebug collection...so cute, I love it!

I have had PSE4 since the program first came out...I am just now starting to learn what all you can do with it. Of course now there is a PSE8, so I am a little behind. I have been working on these monthly calendars that I purchased as a kit. Great practice! These are the two months that I have created so far. I have printed them out and put them in a 5 x 7 frame.

I am so excited that ABC Toys and Crafts is now carrying these cute Sarah Kay stamps by Stampavie. This one is called "A Kiss for Chloe" and I think it makes a perfect little Valentine card. (Wait till you see the new Sarah Kay that are coming soon...too stinkin' cute!)

Wow, my creative juices must be flowing! I made this card using the Sunday Sketch from The Sweetest Thing blog. It is my first time participating in this one! I used one of the newer Stamping Bella images called Baby Carriageabella, I just love that cute buggy filled with presents. Karolyn was nice enough to let me stamp off a few of these when I was at her house the other day!

Image is colored with Copics and shaded with a dauber and Memento's ink, while still in the Nestabilities. I used paper from the same DCWV Mat Stack that I used for yesterday's card. Before I start I must give a "shout out" to my hubby, for completing his first ever half marathon (13.1 miles) yesterday! Participating in the P.F. Chang Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, he, along with 34,999 other participants hit the pavement yesterday morning. He completed the race in 2 hours 52 minutes. We couldn't be prouder!

Now for my card today! I used this week's sketch challenge from Taylored Expressions and one of my latest stamps from my last Stamping Bella order. I think I told you my obsession for now is the "Lollipop" images...and this little one is a favorite for sure! It is called Pookie...even the name is stinkin' cute! The image is colored with Copics, except the grass, which is done with Prismacolor Pencils/OMS. The DP comes from a DCWV Mat Stack that I also love called Nana's Nursery...not new, but shoved in a drawer and forgotten! I stamped two images and cut the "petals" out of the second, then used siclicone glue to create the paper tole effect. I love this stuff, it gives you great control over how high you want your pieces to be and since it is clear, you don't see it underneath!

Nope, I am still around. For some reason I was not feeling the creativity, but I'm back now and ready to share the card I made using this cute set by Hero Arts called "Happy Girls" that can be found at ABC Toys and Crafts. Julie has so many fun items to choose from you really should check them out! I paper pieced her dress to match the background paper. I used a scallop border punch for the bottom and the image is cut out using Nestabilities and shaded with a dauber. The little brads are Making Memories Pebbles, which can also be found at ABC Toys and Crafts. The "Hello" button is a "Dress It Up" button that I had in my stash. Colored with Copics and some shading done with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.

Wow, how long has it been since I colored a Magnolia, and how excited was I when last week my mailbox contained a little envelope from Denise with some cute little Magnolia images in it?! This is Kitchen Tilda...so stinkin' cute, I couldn't wait to play! Thanks Denise!

For this card I used this tutorial that I found on Diana Gibbs' blog. I won't lie, it took me longer to create the background than it did to color the image and put the whole card together...but I love the result. Diana used "faux" stitching, but after messing that up the first time, I decided to do the real deal! The sentiment is computer generated. A quick card and a "crafty" New Year's resolution!

Honestly, I am not one that is big on New Year's resolutions, I mean why set yourself up for failure, right, lol?! This is an easy one and I encourage all you fellow stampers to join me (Karolyn, that means you too!). After all, we've all got 'em right...stamps that have either NEVER seen ink (ones that we just HAD to have) or stamps that have been neglected for far too long. So my challenge is to dig those stamps out at least once a week and create something using them. Won't you feel better for it?! I'll be watching to see if anyone is with me!

Now for my card today, which was not created with an old, unused stamp. I used the sketch from yesterday's challenge at SCS. Both the main image and the background stamps are from Great Impressions. FINALLY... some creative juices are flowing and an update

First I must give you a Fantasy Update...I beat my husband last week so I will be playing for first place this weekend. It is without a doubt my toughest challenge yet, the guy I am up against will be extremely hard to beat, but I want that $325 first prize (second is $150)...think of all the stamp stuff I could buy with that?! Wish me even MORE luck this weekend!

Now on to something creative! It seemed ages since I had even sat down in my craftroom, let alone actually created anything. Yesterday I decide to make January's calendar for my "Frame Your Imagination Vertical Stand" that can be found at Taylored Expressions. I love this thing! I use it for a calendar, but these cute little 6 x 6 clear protectors could easily be filled with just pictures or little scrapbook pages! I love that Taylor is now offering the refill calendars as a "download" for only $2.95!

For this month's image I used a darling "freebie" digital image that was offered by Mo's Digital Pencil a while back...isn't it stinkin' cute?! Colored it with Copics and added some "bling"...super easy! After printing the calendar, I played with printing the digital image on scrap paper until I got it in the perfect position...then I just ran the calendar back thru my printer. VOILA!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...I know that I did! Spending time with family, great gifts and of course watching my grand kids now that they are at an age where they are starting to understand what Christmas is all about!

Since it is Sunday, you know what that means! FOOTBALL! I am happy to say that I finished first place in my Fantasy Football league, beating not only my two daughters, but 9 guys as well. Sadly it doesn't mean a whole lot except bragging rights...the playoffs have begun and this is where I really need to win! Today I play my husband and must beat him to move towards first place...wish me luck!

Nothing creative to share today so I thought I would post a picture of Taylor that I took with my new little camera that "Santa" brought me.

It's definitely "crunch" time...

...at least around my house. It is always the last couple of days before Christmas that I feel there is never enough time, then I tell myself to calm down, it will be okay if I don't buy one more gift...I will have plenty of food on Christmas Eve and of course, go ahead and eat that cookie, you are going to diet after the holidays anyway! Oyyyy!

Since all of my Christmas cards have gone out and should have arrived at their destinations by now, I think it is safe to post a picture of what I came up with this year. This is my all time favorite Santa stamp...it just makes me smile. It is by Rubber Stampede and it is called "Santa Collage". I colored the image with Copics and shaded around the edge, as always, with a sponge dauber with the image left in my Nestabilities. I then sprayed the entire image with Krylon Spray Adhesive and then sprinkled on ultrafine glitter. (I always use a soft bristle makeup brush to remove any excess.) Sentiment is Hero Arts, I think (it's an oldie).

It has been a while since I have participated in the weekly challenge at Stamping Bella. This week's was "faux or sew"...so pretty much any kind of stitching, whether it be real or not. I used the real deal! The image is one of the last ones left given to me by Kathy, it is of course a Lollipop and she is called "Avery". So cute! Colored her with Copics and used Prismacolor Pencils/OMS to add some shading.

A trip to see Santa...oh and a card too!

So it was time to make our annual trip to see Santa. When we pulled up to the mall, Thomas' biggest concern was that he didn't see Santa's sleigh, so of course we had to explain that it was for sure up on the roof (Santa always parks his sleigh on top of Macy's, right?). The rest went better than expected...I would have bet big money that there was no way Taylor would sit on his lap and she was fine till he started talking to her. In the next instant you would have seen two arms out saying "get me off here"! Overall, other than the 45 minute wait in line, all things went quite smoothly!

My card today is for a new weekly sketch challenge that I have just recently discovered! It is called Sweet Sunday Sketch, which is great because I don't do any other Sunday challenges! For this card I used one of the monthly stamps from Great Impressions. I just love this little windblown bird house! Colored with Copics with lots of bling added!

This little stamp is one of my favorite Christmas images. I just love how Stampabilities has created the word "Joy" and there are so many funky ways to color it up! I love this non-traditional Christmas paper by We R Memory Keepers, so I pulled out some of my brightest Copics to color it up. The card itself was actually made for this week's sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions...and I have to say that the main image pieces being "tilted" is a little outside my comfort zone. Anyhoo, I enjoyed the challenge and am quite pleased at how my card turned out. BTW, the "to the world" part of the sentiment is computer generated.

Happy Birthday "Bella"!

As the holidays get closer, it seems I am finding less and less time to be creative...I did, however, set aside enough time to get my "Bella Birthday Bash" project done!

I found this inexpensive photo clock at Hobby Lobby and decided it would be a great way to showcase some of Stamping Bella's darling images! Of course it was hard deciding exactly which Bella's to use...not easy narrowing it down to just twelve. I would especially like to thank Kathy, who was kind enough to send me some of the new "Lollipop" images that I haven't purchased as of yet (definitely on my list). Mostly white...now THIS was a tough challenge!

Every other week the Impression Obsession blog posts a new challenge, and I won't lie...I struggled with this one. It was "mostly white"...wow, tough to interpret and I am still not sure that my card qualifies.

The main image is embossed using Zing Black Glitter Embossing Powder. Not quite "sparkly" enough for my taste so I added three colored rhinestones and used the glue pen and glitter for a little extra "bling" on the drink itself (I think you have to actually "click" on the image to see them). For the background layer, I used the Joy & Cheer Cuttlebug Embossing folder and then using my Sakura Glue Pen, when over all the letters in the word "Cheer" and added Ultrafine Glitter.

As far as holidays go, ours are quiet by most standards! I do know for most they can be quite hectic so many of you may want to celebrate the way Stella would!

I love this image of her in the martini glass, too stinkin' funny. My card is for this week's Bellarific Friday sketch challenge. Image is colored with Copics and since a martini basically has no color at all, I had to get a little creative. I decided to use Twinkling H2O's which I could have pulled off better, if I would have had a better color to work with...anyhoo, this is what I came up with. Olives are made using the smallest oval Nestie and a hole punch.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

at least around our house. Ron was out all day yesterday putting up outdoor lights and STILL is not finished...of course part of that is because it took him about two hours just to figure out how to put together the new animated "Skiing Polar Bear" that we bought last year after the holidays! The bad news, there are still 3 more boxes of things to put together. WHY are we decorating so early, you ask...well, because he leaves to go hunting on Wednesday, so it is pretty much now, or not bother!

So now for my card today! For this one I used another Plum Purdy image from the "Dear Santa" collection...be sure to check out her website, today is the last day of her current sale! I made this card for this week's sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions. Image is colored with Copics. After shading with a Dauber and Memento Dew Drop I used a stylus and acrylic paint to make "snowflakes". Sentiment on the image itself is on the actual stamp, the one on the circle and the inside is computer generated using the same font.

Two cards, two challenges!

Wow, imagine me posting two cards in the same day, not to mention that this is my third post this WEEK...amazing!

My first card is for the challenge at Impression Obsession, which was to make a "shaker" card. When you get right down to it, these can be a lot of fun, if not just a little tedious. I used the "Toasty Treats" image that Karolyn was kind enough to loan me. One thing I have figured out when doing a shaker card...you really only have one shot of getting just the right amount of "stuff" to fill it and that isn't always so easy! For my filling I just used some chunky clear glitter mixed with some blue ultrafine glitter along with some red and green beads. I definitely could have used more, but once you lay that piece on top, it is pretty much a done deal. All in all I was happy with how it turned out!

First and foremost I must thank Karolyn for giving me some of her beloved Bo Bunny DP...thank God the girl buys three sheets of everything because the scrapbook store was out of this when we were there the other night. (Come to think of it, she is probably the reason they were out of, lol!)

Anyhoo, I once again used the free digital image that was given out by Verve a while back...I just love these cute little mittens. For this image I used Prismacolor Pencils/OMS...a super quick and easy image to color! Added a little stitching and a couple of pearls and Voila!

SCS "Outside the Box" challenge...

I love doing this technique, but usually don't care for my own results...today, I think I like it! I used my Nestie's to cut out this darling image by Mo's Digital Pencil...seriously, how stinkin' cute is this little mouse?! I colored the image with my Copics. I printed two of the image and colored/cut out an extra blanket, I then used Silicone Glue to raise it up and give it dimension. Couldn't resist using that little cheese wedge charm with the bow. Surprisingly enough, I did not even use any glitter on this one!

that's the story of my life. Went to a crop last night with the "peeps", spent all night making this card (not because it was that difficult, but because I usually spend more time talking about it rather than actually creating it) and then realize this morning that this challenge ended yesterday, duh! Anyhoo, the sketch was for Our Creative Corner's challenge and I KNOW that they post a new challenge every Saturday morning, but I totally spaced it...I liked how the card turned out so I went with it anyway!

Love, love, love this snowman image by Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored it with Copics and of course, added glitter for sparkle.

BTW, what do you think of my new "font"? Please let me know if it is difficult to read...I just got a bug to change it up a bit!

LSC246 Gobble 'til you Wobble

My card today is for the Limited Supplies challenge at SCS. It was to be a "thankful or Thanksgiving" card and you were to use a bird. Now, I have to admit, if I had not seen the darling cards made by my buddy Denise, I probably would never have bought this set from Our Craft Lounge...she made some darling cards using these images and then it became a "must have"!

I stamped two images and after coloring, cut out the second "turkey tail" for the paper tole technique. I actually glued down the part of the tail closest to his body and then used Silicone Glue to raise the top of his tail. I really like doing it this way because you have more control over how high your image is raised off the paper. I also love that it dries clear and you don't see anything underneath! Sentiments are both from Taylored Expressions. Clear Glaze Pen was used on the windshield.

I'm back...did anyone miss me?!

Last Saturday was my hubby's birthday and for the last couple of years we have been celebrating both his and my birthday's in Las Vegas. I wish I could say that we came home big winners, but really, not so much! The first two days, Ron couldn't lose...unfortunately, I had no problem doing that. I can say he "kept us in the game" for most of the long weekend, but we really stayed one day too long and things did not turn out so prosperous. But hey, our motto is, "We came to gamble!" so that is what we did! We did have a great time so maybe next time...

Anyhoo, after seeing today's sketch challenge at SCS, I decided to jump into my craftroom and play along. Impression Obsession "Wreath Challenge"

It has been a while since I participated in one of the Impression Obsession challenges. It is not for "lack of love" of their stamps because I am a huge fan...I especially love all things Leigh Hannan, and this "Welcome Wreath" is no exception! Sadly, you are not even able to see the best part of this card from the photo. After coloring the image with Copics and cutting it out with Nestabilities, I sprayed the entire image with Krylon Spray Adhesive and covered it completely with Ultrafine Glitter. This puppy really sparkles, but my picture just does not capture that at all. I have to say it is much prettier in real life.

Today Karolyn and I are headed over to Kim's house for a little creativity...well, truth be known, they usually create and I usually talk and watch! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE spending time with the peeps, but I am just not a "mobile" stamper. My card today is for the TESC89 challenge at Taylored Expressions. To accommodate my image I decided to make a 5 1/2 in. square card.

This is one of my absolute favorites by Mo's Digital Pencil. I just love how Bella is jumping up in the air and Bronte is blowing the party toy! So cute! If you haven't joined Mo's group at PCP, not only does she actually give away "freebies", she creates the most darling images!

The image is colored with Copic markers and the sentiment (which I thought matched the image perfectly) was computer generated. I used a Cuttlebug folder for the two background pieces, then sanded the white core cardstock for a little more texture. A little glitter for sparkle and VOILA!

Halloween

These have been my "projects" for the past couple of weeks. I am happy to say that Thomas won "best costume" for his age group at the Harvest Festival. Sadly, Taylor did not, but she should have, don't ya think (says a proud Grandma!). Last but not least, Kelli went as peacock and so far this is the only picture that I have since she did not get ready at home.

For my card today I decided to use "Polly Packages"...since she was not in my Chichi collection, Karolyn was kind enough to share hers. I decided I would change it up a bit and make a tent topper card! Image is colored with Copics. I stamped two scarves and cut out one, mounting it on 3M Foam tape for dimension. I added a rhinestone on each of the existing flowers on the DP, ribbon and a little bit of glitter for sparkle and VOILA! All said and done, the card measures a regular A2.

I am definitely making headway in my craft room. Doing a lot of cleaning out and will probably have stuff to sell on Ebay. Isn't it sad that we buy all the "must-haves" and don't even use half of them?!

A quick card to share today. This is another image by Plum Purdy called "Sharing the Holidays"...I am obsessed with cute snowmen (or in this case snowwoman, lol), and I think this one is super cute! Colored with Copics. I ran white-core cardstock through my Big Kick using a CB Embossing Folder and then sanded it with a block. I also added some machine zig-zag stitching and ultrafine glitter for sparkle. Created the sentiment with alphabet beads.

SHADES OF AUTUMN...

...that is the theme for this week's challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's challenge blog. You were to use Brown, Rust and either Green or Yellow...very simple, however, colors that I rarely find myself using unless actually making a "fall" card.

For this card I used "Charlotte" from the Moonlight Whispers collection. I love these slightly twisted images. I colored most of the image with Copics, adding a few Prisma's here and there! Sentiment is computer generated.

So here is my goal for today...while I am fortunate enough to have a good size craft room, I am always feeling slightly cramped. Why, you ask? Well because I always seem to have various piles of misc. "schtuff", you know what I am talking about...all those supplies that we can't live without, but that don't really have a home! Today, my intention is to find them a place of their own...clear all that clutter and get it out of site. It is seriously making me crazy. IF by chance I fulfill my obligation to myself, I will in fact, take pictures to prove I did it! Nothing is more motivating than a clean work area, don't you agree?

Wow, two Sunday's in a row for me! Looking forward to another day of being lazy and watching some football. I am happy to report that I am still undefeated in my Fantasy League...just tickles me to be beating the guys!

My card today is for Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. I decided to use another of my Plum Purdy sets called "Holly Jolly Christmas"...I know I say it every time, but seriously, how stinkin' cute is this Santa with the snow scene in his beard...love it! I stamped two images and his mustache only out of the second image. For a little extra character I ran it through my Big Kick using the CB Dotted Swiss Folder. I then used "silicone glue" instead of Foam Tape to create the added dimension. Image is colored with Copics and I added lots of glitter for sparkle.

My card today is made with a digi image by someone that I have just recently discovered on ETSY, her name is Michelle Perkett. She is even having a "buy one get one free" special going on right now, so you may want to check out her images.

I could not resist this little Christmas "fairy", but I can say it was a challenge to color! This could have just as easily ended up in the circular file. Her images are very detailed, but oh so cute. I used both Copics and Prisma's for this image. Did a "sprinkle" of glitter here and there for sparkle!

Just wanted to add that I had a fantastic day with the "girls" on Wednesday. Karolyn is always a hoot and we both had a chance to meet and hang out with the oh so talented, Kim Hughes. What an amazing girl...can't wait to do it again!

A "Verve" Free Digi

I love this darling set of images being given away by Verve...it is available until Oct. 23rd and you can find it here. I don't know about you but I just love a cute little pair of winter mittens. The set includes the mittens and two different sentiments.

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I added ultrafine glitter and little rhinestones in the middle of the mitten tops. The big snowflake was in a package that I picked up last year at Michaels, I believe they were My Mind's Eye but I am not sure...the packaged contained several different shapes and sizes.

I am off for a day of fun...lunch and a little retail therapy at IKEA and a local stamp store called Stamp Works. We may even find time for a little "creativity" at Karolyn's.

Two challenges, one card!

I have combined two challenges today...this card is made using last Friday's Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge and a first for me, Kraftin Kimmie's challenge, which was to use "buttons". I am in love with her new stamps, just slightly "twisted", but so much fun. This image is called "Lillith", how stinkin' cute is that frog on her head, and doesn't she just look happy to be in that dress?

For this card I actually used "button brads", I don't know what I will do when my supply of these runs out. The DP was found in my scrap box and comes from an old DCWV Mat Stack. Image was colored with Copics.

For those that don't know, Sunday's are my favorite day of the week this time of year. I am nothing if not an NFL fanatic and I usually spend the entire day watching football. I occasionally do a little coloring but certainly nothing to distracting. I am currently undefeated in my Fantasy Football League (the only one, btw, and I am just sure it is killing the guys!) and today I play my daughter, Melissa. Will she be the first one to beat me...we shall see!

My card today is made with another of my new sets from Plum Purdy, called "Dear Santa". For the DP I used Papertrey Ink, Bitty Dots that my buddy Karolyn gave me for my birthday last year. She knows me well, I love using polka dot paper, it is just so versatile. For this card, I used the "HoHoHo" stamp from the set and stamped it over the dots, which as you can tell is not a common Christmas color, it actually just sort of turned out that way. Colored with Prismacolor Pencils/OMS with a few Copics thrown in. For the "snow" I used Liquid Applique.

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge

I am super late in posting today...I usually have them up long before this! I made this card for last Friday's (yep, better late than never, right?) sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions. You know I love a sketch challenge and seems like forever since I have played along on Taylor's! I see she is in need of three new Designers for her weekly challenges, doesn't that sound like fun?!

I used another of the newly released sets from Plum Purdy, called "Mr. Willy & Friends, are these cute or what?! Renee is actually having a sale right now, so you should definitely check out her darling stamps! This is actually two separate stamps from the set. For my piece along the bottom, I had to improvise and use the Martha Stewart "Goo" Punch for my icicles. I used Vellum for the paper, sprayed it with Krylon Spray Adhesive and sprinkled tons of glitter on top! Image is colored with Copic Markers, and sponged around the edge with a sponge dauber and my Nestabilites.
